Racquel Jones is the epitome of a triple threat; a wildly talented songwriter/lyricist, a commanding and engaging singer and stage performer, and a beautiful and powerful woman in full command of her own visual imaging.
Much of her music fanbase has been built through her star performances as part of Thievery Corporation’s touring band, which has exposed her to tens of thousands of fans throughout Europe, South America and the US from coast to coast. As star of the first single and video from their 2017 release, The Temple of I & I, her track “Letter to the Editor” introduced her unique singing/rapping style to their legions of fans and brought her bonafide fans of her own throughout the world. You might even see a “Racquel Jones” shirt turn up on occasion at their shows.
Hailing from Portland, Jamaica (and currently residing in Kingston), Racquel graduated college with a BA in Visual Communication and is a talented painter and visual artist. She has also spent the past few years working as a professional fashion model and was even first runner-up in the Miss Universe Jamaica 2012 pageant.
Music is Racquel’s first love and passion and she is currently hard at work on tracks for her debut album. Till then, she will be releasing singles and a series of Freestyle videos that feature minimal production behind her unique vocal delivery and socially conscious lyrics.
